Big Tick17        The Langdale Pikes

One of the classic views when driving on the main road between Windermere and Ambleside is that of the Langdale Pikes, a view that has appeared in countess photos. This walk takes in the all the summits of what are "real" mountains, even though they are just over 610m (2000ft) high; it is a strenuous walk and should be done on a fine dry day when the views from the top can be really appreciated.  The route is: New Dungeon Ghyll - Loft Crag - Pike o'Stickle - Harrison Stickle - Pavey Ark - Thunacar Knott - High Raise - Sergeant Man - Blea Rigg - New Dungeon Ghyll.
